Sometimes we like a good cold drink during the holiday season. This sugar cookie matcha latte is perfect for those of us who love an iced latte no matter what time of year it is. Add a little bit of holiday cheer to your daily drink with this fun recipe!

What is a sugar cookie matcha latte?

This delicious drink is a matcha latte with holiday flavoured cereal milk. We used Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch to give the milk a sweet taste reminiscent of a fresh sugar cookie. There’s also splashes of both vanilla extract and almond extract for a little extra flavour. I used this recipe for matcha but you can most definitely put it with your coffee as well. Make your favourite espresso and add the cereal milk to it just the same for a more traditional latte! You could also add a little bit of the cereal milk and extracts to your hot coffee or matcha if that’s what you prefer too.

  • milk of choice 
  • Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch cereal 
  • almond extract 
  • vanilla extract 
  • matcha powder 
  • water 

How to make a sugar cookie matcha latte 

Making a sugar cookie matcha latte is super easy! The part that takes the longest is steeping the cereal with the milk. Start by adding the Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch cereal to a bowl with 1 cup of milk. Let this steep for 30 minutes, I like to put mine back in the fridge during this time. It will be easier here to use a bigger bowl so that you have more than enough room without anything spilling out. Next, strain the cereal from the milk and push down on the cereal with a fork or spoon so that any milk that has been absorbed can be released. Here you can add a little extra splash of milk if your cereal absorbed a lot of it. Then, add the vanilla and almond extracts to the milk and mix well. 

Prepare your matcha by mixing or shaking your matcha powder with 2 oz of water. If you’d prefer to use coffee here, prepare your coffee of choice now. Next, add your matcha or coffee to a glass with as much ice as you desire. Add your cereal milk on top and mix as much as you’d like. Now you have yourself a delicious, holiday themed sugar cookie matcha latte!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 cup Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch cereal
  • ¼ tsp almond extract
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ – 1 tsp matcha powder
  • 2 oz water

Instructions

  • Add Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch cereal to a bowl with 1 cup milk. Let steep for 30 minutes.
  • Strain cereal from milk and discard cereal. Add a splash of extra plain milk if the cereal had absorbed a lot of it. Add almond extract and vanilla extract and mix.
  • Whisk or shake matcha powder with 2 oz water.
  • Add matcha to a glass with ice.
  • Add cereal milk to matcha.
  • Mix and enjoy!

Notes

  • feel free to add more almond or vanilla extract if desired 
  • if you like a sweeter latte, you can add vanilla syrup or even sugar cookie syrup if you can find it
