What are Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars

Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars are cereal treats made with butter, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, and marshmallows. On top, these bars have both a cinnamon roll drizzle as well as a white creme drizzle. We took this classic up a notch and it is SO GOOD!

Ingredients

  • Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal
  • marshmallows

How to make Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars

Cereal treats are the best because of how easy they are and how quickly and easily they come together. First, grease a 9″x13″ baking pan with butter and set aside. You could also use an 8″x8″ pan if you’d like the bars to be thicker. Melt your butter in a large saucepan, using one that’s a little bigger than you think you need is super helpful because the extra room makes it much easier to mix. Coat the silicone spatula you will be using with butter as well. When the butter in the pan is melted, add in the marshmallows and mix until completely melted, then remove from the heat. You can use either large or small marshmallows, but just note that if you’re using the larger ones they will take a little longer to melt.

Add your Cinnamon Toast Crunch to the saucepan and mix until the marshmallow has evenly coated the cereal. Pour the cereal mixture into your prepared pan. Spread it out and flatten it with your silicone spatula until it’s evenly levelled.

Next, make your cinnamon roll drizzle. Melt your butter and add to a bowl with brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch and whisk together until evenly combined and uniform. Keep whisking until the mixture thickens a little bit. Using a spoon or the whisk you used to mix, drizzle overtop of the bars. Then, heat the white creme chips (with coconut oil if desired) in 20-30 second increments in the microwave until completely melted. Using a spoon, drizzle the white creme across the top of all the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars. Let sit until both mixtures have set completely. Cut into even squares and enjoy immediately or whenever you’d like!

What makes these cereal treats special?

THE TOPPING! Adding the cinnamon roll drizzle makes these bars totally next level! They smell and taste just like a classic cinnamon roll but with a base of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. And the addition of the white creme chocolate brings in the flavours of half icing, half cereal and milk and it is just *chef’s kiss*. It is truly the step up from the classic cereal treats. If you’re looking for a cinnamon roll vibe with a fraction of the work, this is the recipe for you! I’m personally obsessed!

Tips for making Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars

Use a larger pan

Using a larger saucepan or pot than you think you’d need is super helpful for the mixing process. It gives you room to fully incorporate everything together and you can mix really well with no problems. Having just enough space is not super ideal for the sticky marshmallows, trust me on this…go bigger!

Grease well

This one’s kind of a no brainer but you definitely want to grease everything really well. This goes for the pan you will be putting the bars into as well as the spatula you’re using to mix. I feel like that one is usually easy to forget but it helps so much and ensures that nothing sticks before the cooling process. The saucepan will already be full of butter so that part is covered! I like to use butter for greasing because it matches the butter that’s already in the recipe but you could use cooking oil or spray as well!

Work quickly

While this isn’t a race and you don’t need to be the fastest person on earth to make Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars, you definitely want to work on the faster side. If you let your mixture sit for too long it’ll start to cool and become much more difficult to work with and put in the pan. Take out everything you’ll need for the recipe before you start and run through it from beginning to end. It comes together so fast anyway, so you won’t need to set aside your whole day or anything.

How to store Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars

Unfortunately, cereal treats don’t last longer than a few days so if you’d like to keep them for longer your best bet is to put them in the freezer. Let them cool completely before cutting into squares. Then, wrap the bars well with wax paper and place them in a freezer safe container or bag. They will be good in there for 3-6 months. When you want one, thaw it to room temperature and enjoy your Cinnamon Toast Crunch bars!
