What is a blackberry mojito mocktail?

A blackberry mojito mocktail is the non-alcoholic version of a traditional mojito, but with a blackberry twist. Classic mojitos are made up of lime and mint flavours, this version has the addition of blackberry as well. This recipe includes muddled blackberries along with blackberry simple syrup. All of these together create a fruity and refreshing drink with a delicious combination of flavours.

Ingredients

  • sugar
  • blackberries
  • mint
  • limes
  • club soda

How to make this easy blackberry mojito mocktail

To make this delicious drink, start by making your blackberry mojito syrup, also known as simple syrup. First, add the water and sugar to a small saucepan and bring the heat to medium. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir often until the sugar has completely dissolved. Next, add the blackberries to the pot and reduce the heat. Let everything simmer for 10 minutes. After that is done, you can strain out the blackberries leaving you with some tasty blackberry simple syrup. Make sure you let the syrup cool completely before using. In my opinion, it’s best to make it ahead of time so that you can just add it to your mocktail right away without having to wait for it to cool.

Now it’s assembly time. Start by adding the mint leaves to the bottom of the glass of your choice. Mojitos are traditionally made with highball glasses but you can absolutely use whatever you have. Gently muddle the mint until it begins to release its oils and you can smell it, you don’t need to over-muddle. Next, add your blackberries and muddle those until they release their juices to your liking. Then, add the blackberry simple syrup and add your ice. You can gently mix your blackberry mojito mocktail at any point if you’d like as well. Next, add your lime juice and top with club soda. You can add more or less club soda as you prefer.

When your blackberry mojito mocktail is ready you can garnish with more mint leaves, blackberries, and limes to make your drink even prettier!
